A middle-aged man, William O'Connor, was killed by a fall of papa rock at the east end of No. 3. tunnel on the Taranaki-Auckland railway construction works; near Tangarakau, last evening. His mates carried him a long distance over the hill to Mangabne. He was conscious all the way, but he expired on his arrival.
