DISTRICT IMPROVEMENT. SCHEME. \s the council is short of funds and asmanv local workmen have recently been dismissed, it was decided, at a meeting of the Takapuna Western Area Ratepayers and Residents' Association, to write to fie Takapuna Borough Council objecting tD the raising of the salary of the town clerk. The association stated that the frontage of Taharoto Park would shortly be improved and that further work would be done in other parts of the district later. . A committee for visiting the sick was appointed as follows: Mesdames Byrne, Maxwell. Brown, and Banbury. Mrs. J. C. Blomfield presided over the meeting.
