FRANKTON SALE. BEEF STILL DEAR. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their usual weekly stock sale at Frankton saleyards on Tuesday, September 17, as under:— Beef.—There was a good yarding of beef, which met with good competition at prices a shade in advance of last week. The quality was generally first-class. Beet young cows and .heifers sold up to £13 7/6 for medium weights. On account of Mr. E. W. R. Leslie we sold a truck of medium weight cows and heifers at an average of over £12. Light cows and heifers, £7 to £8 17/6; aged and inferior cows', £6 to £7 10/;'vealer's, £3, £2 12/6. There waa a fair yarfing of store t cattle. which sold at full late rates. Best store cows sold up to £7 10/; aged and backward cows, £4 5/ to, £5 17/6; empty two-year Jersey heifers, £6 9/ to £0 4/; Holstein and Shorthorn two-year heifers, fair quality, £5 15/; Red Polled and Shorthorn yearling heifers, £5 2/6; yearling Holstein heifers, £3 '17/6; small Shorthorn heifers, £3 18/ small and Weedy heifers, £2 15/ to £3 5/. 'Sheep—There was a fairly large yarding of fat 6heep, which sold at full late rates. Wesold pens of fat wethers at 39/ to 38/; 3 pens ditto, at 39/; fat ewes, 33/9 "30/, 31/, 30/, and 24/; fat hoggets, 28/; 25 mixed breed ewe hogget 6, 25/6; cull hoggets, 13/. " \ Pigs—There was a heavy yarding ot both fat and store pigs, which sold at keen competition. Heavy fat baconers, £4 1/ to £4 3/; light baconers, £3 12/ to £3 15/; heavy porkers, £2 11/ to £2 16/; lighter, 36/ to £2 3/; stores, large, £2 to £2 3/: good sbores,-31/ to. 35/; slips, 22/8 to 27/6; wea-ners, 12/6 to £1.

NGARUAWAHIA. • Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report that at the Ngaruawahia saleyards a small entry came forward. Prices generally were on a par with late rates. Light fat cows made £8 10/ to.£9 2/0; killable cows and heifers, £6 2/ to £7 2/6; good store cows, £5 5/ to. £6 |/; dairys, good Jersey cross heifers at profit, £11 to toothers, £9 5/ to £10 10/; small, £8 5/ to £9 10/.
