"TALKIES" FOR CAMBRIDGE.
The largest installations for sound films in a country theatre in New Zealand Lave been ordered by Dr. F. J. Kay* ner, managing director of Amalgamated Theatres, Ltd., for the Cambridge Town Hall Theatre. The equipment, which is a Western Electric machine, has been secured for £4000, and is the fifth set which Amalgamated Theatres have ordered. Two more installations for this company's theatres have been ordered. It is expected that the first showing in Cambridge will be held in three weeks' time. Films of the best quality have been ordered, bringing Cambridge into line with entertainment houses in the four centres.
