HOWICK SOCIAL EVENING-. < The Loyal Howick Lodge, Manchester Unity Oddfellows, held a very successful open night on Monday in the Oddfellow Ball, Howick, on the occasion of th* oft* cM visit -of the District Grand Master (Bro. F. Best), who was accompanied by the Deputy-District Grand Master (Bro. Pitcher) and Bro. Grey. Invitations im been sent to surrounding lodges and friends, the following lodges Veing.weU represented: Loyal Dominion, Mount Albert, Good Intent, Remuera, Ponsonby, Parnell, Haurakf, Ranfurly, Franklin, Papakura and Morrin6ville. Short speeches were given by repreuea« tatives of the various lodges. During the evening Bro. Best presented Bro. L. H. White with a gold medal fivm the Auckland District and complimented him on his having been in office for fifty years. The Noble Grand of the Loyal Howkk Lodge then welcomed the visiting lodges and friends, the representatives of the lodges suitably responding.
