RISING IN MONACO.
Princess Attempts To Save Father's Throne. FURY AGAINST RULER. (Australian and X.Z. Press Association.) MOXTE CARLO, September 11. Princess Charlotte hurriedly returned to Monte Carlo yesterday from Lake Como in order to endeavour to stem the rising tide of revolution in the principality of Monaco.
The Princess' father, Louis, the reigning Prince of Monaco, and her husband Prince Pierre have failed in their efforts.
As Princess Charlotte is clever and popular she is expected to be a big force in saving her father's throne, which has been in the possession of the Grimaldi dvnastv nearlv 1000 vears.
The feeling against Prince Louis ha; reached such a pitch of fury and resent men that there is even talk of a cotij de'etat. Seven hundred leading citizens actually marched to the Palace anc roughly treated the guards who attempted to block their way. They ther shouted insults to the Sovereign.
The principality is ringing with threats to find a new Prince or to proclaim a Republic or join with France.
The chief of the many grievances is that the Casino Company holds all its piofits and does not spend money on improvements or new attractions. As a result Monte Carlo is going out of fashion and the shops and hotels are suffering badly. Also it is complained that too many foreigners are employed. The inhabitants are exasperated at seeing train loads of people passing through Monaco to gamble at San Eemo, its Italian rival.
