AUCKLAND AFFAIRS.

SATURDAY'S ARRANGEMENTS. FALCON AND SENIOB CTJP GAMES. The Control Board of the Auckland Football Association met last night, Mr. A. ilenzies (chairman) presiding. A letter from the New Zealand Navy Squadron, applying for a return game with the Auckland, representatives, was considered, in view of the pressure of Cup tie fixtures and the near approach of the end of the season. It was decided to offer a game on September 21 with an Auckland representative side as the only possible way of meeting the wishes o*f the board to arrange a game with the Service team. While some teams will of necessity require to play off Falcon Cup ties on that date, it was felt that a very strong representative team could be put in the field to oppose the sailors. The Arapuni Club asked a fixture in Auckland for next Saturday, and as all the local teams are engaged it was agreed to match the works team against the Diomede on the Dock ground. A letter was received from the Interhouse Rugby Association applying for the use of Blandford Park next "Tuesday night for a retail v. wholesale business houses' representative game. Permission was granted. The Referees' Association was again invited into conference regarding the question of the appointments board. After much discuesion an amicable solution of the situation was arrived at, the Referee 6* Association unanimously agreeing to officiate under any appointments board the control board decided to form, adding, however, that it would have no representation on such board. The minor divisions committee notified •the formation of a North Island Secondary Schools' Association for the purpose of holding an annual competition for the Skerrett Cup.
