SOCCER OLD BOYS.

THE NEW ASSOCIATION. A further definite step has been taken in the formation of the Soccer Old Boys' Association (Auckland) by the recentlyformed executive committee in the drafting of a suitable constitution and rules. At a meeting presided over by the president (Dr. Neil MacDougall) a suggested constitution drafted by Dr. MacDougall <Vid Messrs. R. Takle (hon. secretary} ind F. M. Ritchie was considered ana prompted lengthy discussion. Ultimately proposals to be submitted to the first general meeting of the association were finalised and submitted to Mr. W. D. M. Glaister, barrister, and a vice-president of the association, for perusal and opinion. ' The constitution states the aims of the association to be the fostering of Soccer football in Auckland, to create good fellowship between old players and officials and to encourage interest in the game in every direction. Full membership embraces old players and reforees, while hon. membership is provided for any who have held official positions in the code in any capacity whatever. The membership' fee suggested is 2/6, hon. members 2/. After the first year appli-

cation for membership will require to be moved and seconded by a member and admitted after ballot. The executive also discussed the holding of the first reunion of the old boys and will submit recommendations to the! general meeting next week. Mr. Taklej reported that he had been astonished at! thf» number of inquiries he hsni received fiom old players and supporters of Soccer of the early days since the formation of the association was announced, and the indications were that Soccer old boys in Auckland had taken a renewed and vigorous lease of life.
