CANTERBURY PRODUCE.
POTATO MARKET WEAK. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHUECH, Tuesday. The potato market is very weak. Since Saturday another drop of 10/ a ton has to be recorded. September deliveries were quoted at the week-end at ;£7 a ton, f.0.b., s.i., and to-day at £6 10/. It.is expected that the Katoa will sail to-morrow and the Kurow on Saturday. The Waipiata will also be lifting produce on that day. The three boats are not expected to take more than 6000 to 8000 sacks from all Southern ports. There is some opinion that once the present Auckland glut is overcome there will be a sharp recovery. Another theory is that it is now too late in the season for any marked recovery. Oats are firm. A Gartons have been sold at 3/10,-f.0.b., s.i., and B grade' at 3/9. There are few lines of white oata offering. Algerians have come into the picture in the last week or two, both for spring seed and feed, and sales have been made at 3/4 to 3/SV&, f.0.b., s.i. The wheat business is quiet . but firm "Pool" wheat is quoted at 6/5, f.0.b., s.i., for Tuscan, a Blight increase since the commencement of the month.
