ORANGE LODGE HALL

PUKEKOHE PERMIT REFUSED

SITE TOO SMALL,

The Pukekohe Borough Council last night refused a request for permission to erect a hall for the Orange Lodge on a site of one-tenth of an acre in Queen Street, Pukekohe.

The site was bequeathed to the lodce. which was contracting with a builder to erect a lodge hall thereon. An objection made by an adjoining owner was referred the Town Planning Committee of the council with power to act, and the committee was of opinion, in view of the provisions in the Town Planning Act as to the amenities of localities and the restricted area., that the building inspector should not issue a permit for the proposed structure. The inspector had been instructed accordingly.
