NEW PLYMOUTH, this day.

A fir© at 4 a.m. to-day destroyed the Waitara "Evening Mail" building and Chadwick's confectionery shop.

Incendiarism is suspected. Two kerosene tins, recently emptied, were found near the building. About 200 ft of hose, which was kept on a reel, was discovered three-quartersrof* a mile -away. / - The insurance on the Chadwick building and stock was £1195, and on the "Mail" building and stock, £600.
