BUSHMAN'S ARREST.
ON SERIOUS CHARGE. ALLEGED THREAT OF SUICIDE MAGISTRATE REFUSES BAIL. A Imsliman named John Robert McMullan,- aged 29, was yesterday arrested by Acting Detective Mills on a charge-of indecent assault on a boy of 14 years. Detective-Sergeant T. Kelly obtained a remand until September 5. Mr. Alan Smyth, who' appeared for prisoner, asked for bail. "I doubt whether the accused entitled to bail," said Detective-Sergeant Kelly. "Last , night he threatened to commit suicide, so under those circumstances I will oppose the granting of baU."
After consulting with his client, Mr. Smyth said McMullan denied oxer making such a statement. - ' Mr. Cutten, in refusing bail, told counsel that application for bail could be made at a later date. • .
