CHURCH MEETING.

MOUNT EDEN PRESBYTERIAN,

The annual meeting of the congregation of the Mount Eden Presbyterian Church was held on Wednesday. The Rev. L. Hunt presided. The session report which was referred to by the clerk, Mr. J. B. Ramsay, outlined the progress made in the various departments of the church work, the most noticeable being that made by the Bible Classes. Eight classes amongst the young people meet every Sunday, the total membership of which is 103. Two Sunda schools with Mr. R. Richmond superintendent of the main school and Mr. D. G. Bissett of the branch school and a faithful band of teachers continue successfully to carry on the teaching of the scholars even' Sunday. The rolls show a total membership of 200 with an average attendance of 120. Under the conductorship of Mr. Owen Jones and Mr. Eric Edgar organist, the work done by the choir has been very successful and greatly appreciated by the congregation. The Troop Pack of Boy Scouts under the capable leadership of Messrs. A. S. Oxley, A. P. Sladdin, Arthur Gaily and Roy Salmon, with a membership of about 60 boys continued to perform good work. The sesion was strengthened during the past years by the addition of Rev. W. J. Comrie, Messrs. D. G. Bissett, J. E. Haywood and R. H. Lymburn. The managers' report showed a gross revenue of £1540, being £195 more than last year. The various organisations assist in contributing towards the various funds of the church. The moderator referred to the new Bible Class hall in course of erection, and expressed the hope that it would be opened free of debt. An opportunity will be given to the members of the congregation to contribute by a special freewill offering. New members elected to the Managers' Board were Messrs. G. Avery, W. B. Gillingham, J. V. Mackv, L. Moir, J. T. R. Oliver, J. Rattray and A. M. Rosie. Several musical items were contributed by Misses Myrtle Burns, M. Grassie, E. Mann,' Mrs. Taylor, and Messrs. E. Edgar and J A Smith.
