KARAKA TENNIS CLUB.
The Karaka Hall was the scene of a very gay evening on Saturday, when the Karaka North Tennis Club farevvelled Mr. and Mrs. L. Hcsking, who are shortly leaving the Karaka district to live in Auckland. Mr. Hosking has for many years taken a very active interest in the tennis club, having been secretary for the last six years, besides being a member of its first team. Mr. and Mrs. Hosking are very much respected right through the Karaka and Papakura districts, and the place is unfortunate in losing them. On behalf of the Karaka North Tennis Club the president (Mr. W. Henry) presented Mr. and Mrs. Hosking with a very handsome silver cake stand, and wished them a very happy life in their new home. The hal* was decorated in the club's colours of blue and gold, and the music was supplied by Hulme's orchestra. Amongst those present were:—Mrs. W. J. Connell, wearing a frock of blue marocain; Mrs. Wright, rose repp; Mrs. R. J. McGee, black georgette; Mrs. A. C. Lupton, tomato crepe de chine; Mrs. F. P. Laing, frock of knife pleated blue crepe de chine; Mrs. Jolly, black crepe de chine; Mrs. T. H. Brooks (Drury), black dress relieved with white; Mrs. P. Lindesay, rose and silver chiffon velvet period gown; Miss D. Laing (Tuakau), Nile green chiffon, Oriental trimmings; Miss M. Francis (Papakura), period frock of geyanium ring velvet and fur wrap; Miss G. Andreason (Papakura), frock of rose taffeta; Miss L. Wright, pink georgette with accordion pleated skirt; Miss 0. Wright, coral crepe de 'mine; Miss M. Wood, blue georgette; Miss B. Bowman, orange satin; Miss Thompson, pink crepe de chine and silver lace; Miss M. Walters, pink orepe de chine; Miss K. M. Jamieson (Paerata), green floral crepe de chine and lace; Miss M. R. Jamieson, draught board effect;. Miss B. Grant, apricot satin with lace overskirt; Miss C. Jolly, pink crepe de chine and diamlante embossed black lace; Miss Kath. Brooks (Drury), sequined dress over pink satin; Miss Marion McQuarrie, midnight blue braided gette, with Oriental shawl to tone; Miss M. Egan, pink satin and silver lace; Miss Bertha Gray, green chiffon taffeta shot with rose; Miss L. Glasson, apple green crepe d chine with gold lace; Miss E. Thompson, floral and white georgette; Miss Morgan, sack cloth with rose;
