OBITUARY.

MR. C. D. F. TOPLISS,

A resident of Paeroa for the last six years, Mr. C. D. F. Topliss died yesterday at Wellington. He was an old student of "Nelson College, and for the last six years was manager of the branch of the Bank of Xew Zealand at Paeroa. He served in the Great War as an officer of the New Zealand Rifle Brigade, being wounded at the Battle of Sonime in 1910. The next year he was invalided home. Mr. Topliss was a keen golfer, played tennis, and was a vice-president of the Rugby Union.
