MOTOR CAR CAPSIZED.
TWO TRAVELLERS INJURED.
HELPLESS FOR THREE HOURS.
OXE IN SERIOUS CONDITION. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Two men were injured through a motor car going over a bank nearWaiau. A man named Mackessack, of the Waikato, had his head severely injured and his condition is serious. Another man named Burke, also of the North Island, had his hip fractured. He is progressing satisfactorily. Both men are commercial travellers for hemp land bonds. The car was travelling north, and instead of taking a turn to the right it went straight on down a sloping bank, turned over and then fell a distance of '40 feet. It was not visible from the road, and it was three hours before Burke could summon help. After crawling 75 yards he managed to attract the attention of a road contractor, who helped to release Mackessack, and secured assistance. Both men were taken to the Amuri Hospital.
