(By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.")',
WANGANUI, this day.
Settlers in the Raetihi district, now that the Parapara Road is completed, are particularly anxious to have the Raetihi-Pipiriki Road metalled as a tourist route. The Hon. W. A. Veitch made strong representations to the Minister of Public Works, and he advises that the road is now under the jurisdiction of the Highways Board, which is spending £30,000 on the Te Maire-Mangaohutu and Raurimu-Wade's Landing highways, largely for tourist purposes. Therefore the board is not able at present to undertake work on the Pipiriki Road.
