ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.

PLUNGE INTO HARBOUR. RESCUE BY WATERSIDER. A TELL-TALE LETTER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Allan Grant Wishart, a seaman, aged 29, who plunged into the harbour yesterday was to-day charged with drunkenness and attempting to commit suicide. The police stated that after lie was pulled from the water by a watersider, letters were found at his home indicating that h<; intended to commit suicide, and that his body would be found oft the wharf. He had had some trouble with his wife. On the charge of drunkenness Wishart was convicted and discharged, and on the other charge he was ordered to come up for sentence within 12 months if called.
