TAKAPUNA BOATING CLUB.
The Takapuna Boating Club gave their first dance of the season last night in the clubhouse at Bavswater. The supper room and dance hall were redecorated for the occasion under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. Dryland on an elaborate scale, with orange blue and red aa the dominant colours. The ladies of the committee were:—Mrs. Lidgard, duchesse blue taffeta and frilled net; Mrs. MacKay, apricot taffeta; Miss Inkster. black lace; Mrs. Blackwell. bronze taffeta; Mrs. Deacon, cream lace with pink; Mrs. Cook, black lace; Mrs. Bach, fawn bengaline; Mrs. Locke, black and gold lace; Mrs. Williamson, beige silk; Mrs. N. Smith, petunia crepe de chine and georgette; Mrs. Peters, blue georgette and gold lace; Mrs. Waddell, peacock blue georgette; Miss Bowen, peach lace and taffeta; Miss Pickworth, sequinned black frock; Mrs. Gvde, chocolate brown lace; Miss Hurfit, pink georgette. Others present were:—Miss E. Locke. Alice blue taffeta; Miss Swan, red shot silver taffeta; Mrs. Dryland, maize crepe de chine and silver grey lace; Miss M. Swan, apple green crepe de chine; Miss N.
