WAHINE MAIL BOBBERY.
TWO MEIT SENTENCED.
HARD LABOUR FOR TAXI DRIVER

WELLINGTON", Wednesday.
Thomas Gordon, who stole postal packets from the ferry steamer Wahine, was sentenced at Wellington to-day to three years' imprisonment, with hard labour.
Arthur Henry William Bevan, who was also implicated, was sentenced to two years at a Borstal Institute. A sum of £16 found in his possession, part of the proceeds of the robbery, was ordered to be returned to the Post-master-General. Gordon was a taxi driver, aged 21, and Bevan a plumber, aged 20. It was stated in Court that Gordon admitted going into the hold of the Wahine, where he secured the mail matter which was subsequently missed. A third man, who pleaded not guilty, has yet to be tried.
