MUSIC EXAMINATIONS.
PRACTICAL TEST RESULTS
Results of practical music examinations held in New Zealand last year are announced by the associated board of the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music, London. A free course of not less than two years' duration at one of the institutions is available to exhibitioners. Successful candidates were:
Exhibitioners.—Thelma F. Willoughby, Wellington; Mary E. Martin, Greymouth; Margaret G. McLeod, Havelock North.
Medallists.—Final grade: Gold medal, Eva Judd, Dunedin; silver medal, Noel C. Newson, Christchurch. Advanced grade: Gold medal, Marjorie Alexander, Christchurch; silver medal, Mary E. Martin, Greymouth. Intermediate grade: Gold medal, Gordon V. Anderson, Christchurch; silver medal, Isabel Dawson, Oamaru.
Licentiate Examinations (two £25 prizes).—North Island: Richard Maunder, Wellington. South Island: Constance Flamank, Timaru. Local Exhibitions (£ls and £10 each). Advanced grade: Mary E. Martin, Greymouth. Intermediate grade: Sunday Mowbray, Auckland. Violet Ward Prize, Christchurch Centre.—Marjorie E. Alexander.
