(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, thi« day. The surveyor of ships proceeded against E. C. Arlidge in the Magistrate's Court to-day, for plying the oil-burning lauach Alma G. for hire at Whitianga between December 19 and March 13 without securing a certificate of survey. The Alma G. was used by Mr. Zane Grey's party. The defence was that Section 171 of the 1908 Act applied only to steam vesgg]g. air. Ludf oxd, S.M., reserved judgment.
