CHINESE CONSUL-GENERAL

DISTINGUISHED NEW OFFICER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Mr. Tsin Shuing Ou, the new Chinese Consul-General to New Zealand, arrived from Sydney by the Maunganui this morning. He was met by Mr. H. Jackson, acting-Chinese Consul, and a number of leading members of the Chines® community in Wellington. Mr. Ou was at one time in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Chinese Government. He has also been Charge d'Affaires for China in Peru and Brazil, and since July of last year he has been acting-Consul-General in Australia.
