MACHINERY TRANSPORTED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DARGAVILLE, this day. Leaving the Waikato Heads on Saturday morning, the steamer John had in tow a pontoon, and in her holds the machinery for a 70ft Californian clamshell dredge, which will be used on the £10,000 contract for the Kaihu River diversion works. The weather was ideal for the trip across, and the bars both at Waikato and Kaipara Heads were crossed under perfect w>oather conditions. The steamer arrived at Ponto at 9.30 p.m., and the machinery was reloadedThf> pontoon was towed to Dargaville, reaching here last night. It will be about three weeks before the dredge will be assembled ready to commence work.
