MANGERE MOTOR SPORTS.

RACES TO BE RUN IN HEATS

For the motor car and motor cycle races to he held at th© Mangere speedway on Saturday, the Motor Racing Club, to avoid the repetition of congestion of cars experienced at the previous sports, has provided no less than seven spacious entrances for motor cars, together with two entrances for pedestrians at the eorner of Massey and Pukaki Roads. The entries in the motor car races will necessitate some events being run in heats for safety sake. Competition has exceeded all expectations, no less than #5 cars, in addition to 19 motor cycles, having made entry. There arc also 50 push bikes taking part in a three-lap race.

Ample provision is being made by the New Zealand railway and private buses to cope with the requirements of the public, trains running at frequent intervals, whilst a fleet of buses will convey passengers from the city. The rain during the past few nights will have the effect of making the track ▼ery fast, and, as during recent weekends andl almost every night during the past two weeks, entrants nave been having "try outs," the track has become more consolidated, and it will be found that on Saturday some very fast times will be recorded by both cars and motor bikes.
