THE RESERVOIR ACCIDENT.

The bursting of the Mount Eden reservoir ought to be a decisive warning to the gaol authorities, also to the City Council, that it is imperative that the quarries on Mount Edea should be closed down. Owing to the very loose formation of the Mount Eden soil the continuous blasting and shooting of stones Is proving very injurious to all the houses, buildings, etc., situated in that district. Xo reservoir will stand the daily concussion that the Mount Eden reservoir was subject to, and it is really marvellous an accident has not happened before now. I live at the Mount Edea terminus and the vibrations arc plainly felt when the blasting and shooting are going on. I trust that the Government will take immediate action. F. B. STRETTOX.
