BAY OF ISLANDS. On February 20 the Bay of i.-i.utds Co-op. Dairy Company, Ltd.. paid out the sum of £10,000 for butterfat received during the month of .January. the advance being at the rate of 1/4 and l/4i per lb. The make of butter for January j?bow3 an increase of 20 tons over January last year, equal to 34 per cent increase for the month. The total make for the season to toe end of January, shows an increase of 62 tone over the same period of last season. KAIKOHE. With the oTijert o* rormirig a co-opera-tive dairy factory at Kaikohe, a meeting of dairymen from Taheke, Mataraua. Waiinate North, Remuera Estate, and Kaikohe was hpld In the Oddfellows' Hall. Kaikohe. Mr. H. F. CJ-uy, who presided, outlined the steps taken by the provisional directors to organise the suppliers in the area proposed to be served by the company, over "2000 cows being guaranteed. He also made a statement as to arrangements made bv the directors for their requirements pending the passing of the necessary forma! resolutions. Several questions were asked and safusfaetnrily answered, after which the resolution that a co-operative dairy company, limited, be formed with headquarters at Kaikohe was carried. The directors decided to put the erection of the factory in hand forthwith. Plan* and specifications are to be reoiy in three weeks, so that a contract can bs let and the factory ready to e tart with the new season on first of August next.
