DIABETIC BREAD.

A correspondent suggests that the following recipe is good for a diabetic

patient: —■

One lb fine wheatiueal, one teaspoon salt, one heaped teaspoon carbonate soda, two teaspoons hydrochloric acid, half a pint of hot water. Mix the meal, sait and soda together, then add the water, to which has been added the acid. Jlix well and make into a loaf. Put on a hot slide and bake in a hot oven for half an hour.

N.B.—Hydrochloric acid must be kept in a glass stoppered bottle and measured in a medicine glass.
