LONDON. February 15
The Colliery Owners' Association states that the allegation that they are export ing coal to Australia at 14/ while charging the British industry 28/ per ton is utterly misleading. It all depends on the grade of coal.
The only one quoted at 28/ to-day is the best house coal, while the most expensive general industrial coal at the moment is the South Yorkshire hards, costing 16/6.
Otherwise industrials f.o.b. Cardiff. Newcastle and Hull vary from 18/9 to 19/, the latter being for the Admiralty.
In seconds, which is popular for industrial purposes, or special grades, the average of all the exports from Britain in January was 15/64.
