INCIDENT AT WAIHI FIRE. CUT FROM BROKEN WINDOW. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. During a recent Are at Mr. W. Smith's residence Mr. F. C. Heath, who resided clo&e by, fearing that Miss Smith was in the burning building, smashed in the window of a bedroom with his fist but discovered that the room was vacant, the family being absent from home. Mr. Heath then noticed blood streaming down his arm from a deep cut which had been caused by the broken glass of the window. He was admitted to the Waihi Hospital and an examination showed that an artery had been severed and some tendons cut.
