WANGANUI TRAGEDY.
VERDICT AT THE INQUEST.
CORONER COMMENDS POLICE

WANGANUI, this dav.
An inquest concerning the death of George Allen, the central figure in last Wednesday's sensational tragedy, who shot himself at the end of a five hours' siege, was held to-dav.
The coroner's verdict was that the deceased met hie death by a gunshot wound, which was self-inflicted, his mind being seriously unhinged at the time.
The coroner added that the polico methods in handling the difficult situation were intelligent and proper.
