PERSONAL.

The Rev. G. H. Nash, of Melbourne, arrived by the Ulimaroa from Australia for the purpose of attending a united church conference at Cambridge.

Mr. E. T. White, of Brisbane, came over by the Ulimaroa to visit old friends in New Plymouth, where he formerly resided. Mr. Henry Hayward, of Auckland, returned by the Ulimaroa from Sydney yesterday after investigating matters connected with the cinema industry. Mr. Guy Natusch, a journalist who was formerly in Auckland, arrived by the Ulimaroa yesterday on a holiday visit from Sydney. He left later for Wellington. Mr. E. S. Marks, member for North Sydney in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly, was a passenger by the Ulimaroa on a holiday visit to New Zealand. Archdeacon H. A. Hawkins, of Auckland, returned by the Government steamer Maui Pomare yesterday, after visiting Norfolk Island on business connected with endowment lands of the Melanesian Mission.

Mr. W. S. Littlejohn, a former principal of Nelson College, was a passenger to Auckland by the Ulimaroa. Mr. Littlejohn, who is now principal of Scotch College, Melbourne, will be joined later by Sir John MacFarland, Chancellor of the University of Melbourne, and the Rev. Macrae Stewart, of Melbourne, for fishing in Otago.
