SCHOOLTEACHER KILLED.
THROWN FROM MOTOR CYCLE
FOUND LYING ON ROAD.

NEW PLYMOUTH, Tuesday.
Mr. George Tika Leith Smith, school teacher, waß fatally injured in a motor cycle accident on Frankley Road on Sunday morning. A resident, Mr. VV. H. Lander, heard a crash, and discovered that Smith's cycle had apparently skidded and he had been thrown heavily. His injuries included a fracture of the skull and a broken collarbone. He died in hospital twelve hours* after his admission.

ROTORUA, Tuesday.
A Maori, Jack Ratana, had a leg broken through being thrown from his bicycle, which skidded. He was removed to the hospital in the ambulance. CAR DASHES INTO FENCE. WOMAN TEACHER INJURED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Ella Constance Hack, a school teacher, unmarried, is now in hospital suffering from serious injuries received when the motor car she was driving at Lyttelton yesterday got out of control and dashed into a fence at a speed of 40 miles an hour.
