THROWN FROM MOTOR CYCLE

FOUND LYING ON ROAD.

NEW PLYMOUTH, Tuesday.

Mr. George Tika Leith Smith, school teacher, waß fatally injured in a motor cycle accident on Frankley Road on Sunday morning. A resident, Mr. VV. H. Lander, heard a crash, and discovered that Smith's cycle had apparently skidded and he had been thrown heavily. His injuries included a fracture of the skull and a broken collarbone. He died in hospital twelve hours* after his admission.

A Maori, Jack Ratana, had a leg broken through being thrown from his bicycle, which skidded. He was removed to the hospital in the ambulance. CAR DASHES INTO FENCE. WOMAN TEACHER INJURED. Ella Constance Hack, a school teacher, unmarried, is now in hospital suffering from serious injuries received when the motor car she was driving at Lyttelton yesterday got out of control and dashed into a fence at a speed of 40 miles an hour.
