SYDNEY, thia day.
The Ministry emerged with a substantial majority of eleven, Labour having won back eight seats, thus increasing their representation to 31 in a House of 75.
The Government lost three seats in New South Wales and one in each of the other States.
The total of the Ministerial party is now 43, without one Independent, who is likely to support the Ministry.
In the Senate, Labour is likely to gain eight seats, which will more evenly balance the parties in this chamber. The results of this check will be known next week.
