TO TRANSPORT FOODSTUFFS.
Aβ part of the $15,000,000 equipment programme outlined by Sir Henry Thornton, prior to hie departure for Europe, the Canadian National Railways are placing an order for 500 refrigerator cars. Theee are to be of two typee, one lot of 350 being required for the banana and trade trade, and 150 for special meat service. The banana care will be requiredjn connection with the development of Dusineee under the Canada-West Indies treaty, and are to be operated in conjunction with the new fleet of Canadian National steamers, which will ply between Canadian Atlantic ports and the Weet Indiee.
