GAMES IN THE SOUTH. WELLINGTON. In a cricket match at Wellington on Saturday against Old Boys, Institute made 318 for two wickets (Dempster 123, Foley i^/«?Lf S! i inst ,. I \ eton ''' Wel »ngton made 151 (Hiddleston 43). Petone made 9S. Hutt scored 118 runs for two wickets in a match against Kilbirnie. The latter team made 191 (W. Christopherson 94). In a match against Midland, University made 367 for eight wickets (Mackenzie IoS, Hollings 94). CHRISTCHURCH. The third round of the senior cricket competition concluded on Saturday in ideal weather. Riccarton, 206 and 149 runs for five wickets, declared (Roberts 82 not out) defeated Linwood, 101 and 163 for eight (Smith 40 not out). For Riccarton Beuth took six wickets for 34. St. Albans, 137 and 153 (Crawford 42), defeated Old Boys. 200 and 66. Thomas secured five wickets for 29, and Lindley four for 17. DUNEDIN. Senior cricket matches at Dunedin on Saturday resulted: — Old Boys, 246, beat Carisbrook, 133 and 133 for seven. For Old Boys Dickinson took three wickets tor 18 runs, including the "hat trick." Grange, 462 for eight wickets declared, and 63 for six, beat Albion, 206, on the first innings. For Albion Shepherd took three wickets for 22. For Grange Elmes took seven for 86. ; Dunertin, 139 and 171 for seven beat Colts. 115, on the first innings. For Dunedin McGregor took five for 16, and Cavanagh one for 2.
