GOLDEN WEDDING.
The golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. J Charles Gemming was celebrated at their residence, Mackay Street, Thames, recently. Mr. Charles Gemming, who was born in Bendigo, Australia, on July 31, 1855, is the only son ofirthe late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gemming. Mr. Gemming has been connected with mining practically all his life in New Zealand, being mine ma-nager for many years. He also held a responsible position in the construction of the Horohora power works. Mrs. Gemming, who was born in Auckland on October 12, 1859, is the second daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Hollis. Amongst their children at present living are Mr. Fred Gemming, Te Puke; Mrs. C. G. Mellor, Glen Eden; Mrs. R. Hosking, Whangarei; Mrs. F. L. Jenner, Auckland; Mrs. T. Chambers, Christchurch; Mrs. S. Hall, Matatoki; Miss N. Gemming, and twenty-one grandchildren. Three sons, Jack, Tom and Charlie, were killed in the Great War, 1914-18.
