Wilson) reported that low tension wiring on all stretchce of the Nihotupu extension had now been completed, and a considerable number of consumers connected. The laying of the 11,000 volt underground cable to the Hobsenville air base hail been" completed, and jointing-was in progress. It was anticipated that th*e -cable : 1 would be tested and in service before the end of the month. The synchronous condeneer at Heleneville depot was now completely assembled, and, on completion of the painting, would be put in continuous service. Tests' taken indicate the machine was capable of raising jthe power factor of the Heleneville line t6 unity, and the summation pane)' from 0.88 to 0.96, which would represent a saving of seven per cent on the cost of the power purchased at this point. The Greenhithe extension was livened on November 12, and several consumers had been connected. Connections made during the month aggregated 90, making the total consumer* to date 6193. The board was adjourned at nine o'clock to Helensyille, where .the report of the engineer will be considered!
