WORKING SMOOTHLY.

VOTING IN SUBURBS

"Phew!" emitted a perspiring elector as he emerged from one of the polling booths in the Suburbs electorate. "It's worse than breasting the tote. I went in to vote for one bloke, and twisted like some of the blinkin' candidates." It wa& a case of that remarkable psychological effect that the election booth has on the voter. Voting in the electorate from the earliest hour proceeded smoothly, and there were remarkably few complications. Electors concentrated most thickly on the Avondale Town Hall, Birkenhead and Henderson booths, but votes were proportionately distributed amongst the numerous lesser booths. "Everything working smoothly" was the report from all directions.
