VOTING IN ROSKILL.
EVERYTHING GOING WELL.
"Everything is going very well indeed in the Roskill electorate, and what with a record number on the roll and postal and absentee voting the chances are that 96 per cent of the electors will record their votes," said Mr. J. F. Barrett, electoral officer for the newlycreated district.
Heaviest polling was at the' St. George's Hall (Kingsland) and the Edendale Public School, but, favoured with brilliant weather, the electors commenced to cast their votes steadily at ail the 45 booths from the moment they opened their doors at 9 o'clock. Naturally there was brisker business for the returning officers in the afternoon when electors were free from business, but it is expected that the heaviest polling will be between the hours of 5 and 7.
