Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd., report: To-day at our weekly Westfield fat stock market our beef pens contained 334 head, comprising 173 steers and 161 cows and heifers, as against 308 at last week's sale.
Extra choice ox sold to £2 5/ per 1001b; [choice and prime ox, £2 2/ to £2 4,/; secondary and plain ox, £1 19/ to £2 1/; | prime young cow and heifer beef. £ 1 17/ to £2; ordinary cow beef, £1 13/ to £1 16/. Extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £17 15/ to £18 15/; heavy prime steers, £16 10/ to £17 10/6; lighter prime steers. £15 to £16 7/6; light prime steers, £13 10/ to £14 17/6; unfinished and small, £11 10/ to £13 7/6; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £12 to £13 10/; heavy prime young cows and heifer#; £10 15/ to £11 17/0; lighter, £!> to £12 6'; other rows, £5 10/ to £S 17/6.
