HISTORIC NOW.

Church Assembly To Publish

Prayer Book.

NEED NOT BE USED

(Australian Press Assn.—United Service.)

(Received 10.30 a.m.)

LONDON, November 12.

The Church Assembly has agreed on the publication of the 1928 Prayer Book, prefaced by a note dealing with the book's history and position, explicitly stating that the publication neither directly nor indirectly implies its authorisation for church use.

The Archbishop of York explained that the publication was due as the book was still exciting general interest and must always be of special interest to students. The Church's history, therefore, ought to be accessible.
