CHARITY CLUB DANCE.
Blazing with a riot of colour, the Scots Hall presented an unusual and original scene last night, when the Auckland Retail Shop Assistants' Union Charity Club held the final dance for the season. The hall was decorated to resemble a scene in Chinatown, and, with banners on which Chinese characters were inscribed and gorgeous Oriental colouring, a distinct atmosphere was preserved. Red and yellow streamers were suspended in profusion from the ceilint, and large clusters of green and red balloons gave another touch of colour. Chinese lanterns swayed rhythmically overhead, and on the stage a large joss was to be seen against a Chinese background, and the orchestra in brilliant costumes played to a large number ot enthusiastic dancers.
