MEAN THEFT.
DISABLED CAR STRIPPED. (By. Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) - TAD3APE, Friday. John • McMahn, engine-driver of Hihitahi,' appeared before Messrs. J. P. Aldridge and A.' Perrett, J.P.'s, to answer a charge of stealing a tyre and tube, tho property of L. McMillan, electrician, Taihape. Mr/ McMillan gave evidence that he had left his disabled car on the roadside on Sunday evening, and was informed by a friend on Tuesday evening that a and tube were missing from the car, his. informant said that he later saw accused changing a tyre on his car some distance away. Acting on this information accused "was arrested by Constable •McDonnell. .-'-'•' Accused pleaded guilty, and said he was under the influence of liquor on the night in question, and blamed this condition, for his actions.
