LABOUR CRITICISES REFORM.
MS. CROALL AT OTOROHANGA. 7 (From, Our Own Correspondent.)' ' OTOROHANGA, Friday.. The Labour candidate for Waitomo, Mr. C:-Crpall, addressed a gathering in the Town Hall this afternoon, Mr. F. Phillips, chairman of the town hoard, presiding.' ' "■'■'"■ .•"■"" 'U'7 ■■' • The candidate traversed the Labour party's programme and criticised the Reform Government.. for commencing road works with relief labour between Maugapeehi and Poro-o-tarao, and not completing the road to either place. ; In reply to questions, he said that the Labur party, if in power, would get the money for its social schemes by taxing, big incomes; would place the defence system on a voluntary basis', and abolish boy conscription; did not propose to adopt the Russian Soviet system in New Zealand; kept Communists out of the party; retained State owenrship and control of licensed hotels on the ballot-paper. Tlfe usual vote of thanks was carried.
