NO FOREIGN POLICY.
MR. BURTON AND THE PARTIES WILL NOT PLEDGE HIS VOTE. "What has surprised me. most in this campaign is the complete absence from the party platforms of anything in the nature of an outline of foreign policy." The speaker ' was Mr. O. E. Burton, Christian Socialist candidate for Eden, and he was addressing a large evening gathering at the' corner of Dominion and Valley Roads. "Not even the Labour party," he said, "is exempt from this criticism. The question of foreign policy is of paramount'importance, because the relationships with other countries to a very large extent determine the progress which is possible in internal affairs." Replying to a question, the candidate said that if returned he would vote against the Reform party and against the United party. As to whether he would vote for or against the Labour party he could not. at present state. While he would probably vote with Labour he would give no pledge on the matter. The candidate was given a cordial vote of thanks. . •, : : .
