RUGBY, November 8.

Practically the whole of England was enveloped in fog on Tuesday. Traffic on the roads and on the railways was much impeded.

In southern England the fog lifted on Tuesday night, but in the London area it recurred yesterday morning, although it was less dense than Tuesday. Owing to a slight wind, moreover, it seemed unlikely to persist throughout the day. In spite of precautions one or two minor mishaps occurred. Around the coasts shipping was held up. In a dense fog off the east coast a Lowestoft drifter collided with another vessel. Some members of the crew of the former had a narrow escape.
