FARMER IN COURT.
CHARGE OF RECEIVING DISMISSED. Cecil Renwick, a farmer, of Te Atatu, near Henderson, appeared at the Police Court this morning on two charges of receiving harness valued at fl 3/ from a youth. Accused pleaded not guilty. Evidence was given by a youth, who was dealt with by the Children's Court on Saturday for theft. This witness admitted having stolen the harness from neighbouring farmers and giving it to accused to keep for him, while he further admitted having stolen flO from his mother and £2 10/ from the till of a shop. The defence was a denial of the youth's evidence. Both charges against Renwick were dismissed by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., who asked the police whether the youth had been sent to the Borstal Institute. "He was admonished «>nd discharged," said Detective SergeantT^elly. Mr. Hunt: It was a good thing for him that I was not presiding over that Court.
