Peter and Miss Menroie sailed by the Ulimaroa on a visit to Scotland. • • • • Mrs. M. K. Chandler, of Rotorua, was a passenger to Australia yesterday en route for the Continent. • • • • Mr. and Mrs. W. Browne returned from Honolulu yesterday afternoon by the Aorangi. • • • • Mrs. H. Kirkcaldie, of Wellington, and Miss Kirkcaldie are staying at the Grand Hotel. • • • • Among the passengers who arrived by the Aorangi yesterday were Mr. and Mrs. W. Price and Miss K. Price. • • • • Mrs. W. A. Cooke and Miss Winifred Cooke, of Bella Vista Road, Heme Bay, are spending a few Weeks in Rotorua, and staying at Grand Vue. * • • • Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Taafe, who have been visiting England and the Continent for the last twelve months, have returned to Auckland. • • • • Mr. W. L. Lowrie, Consul-General for U.S.A. in the Dominion, and _ Mrs. Lowrie, returned by the Aorangi last evening. • • • Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Puckey, of Remuera, returned by the Aorangi from a holiday spent in England and the Continent. . • • • Mr. and Mrs. Warren Blyth were passengers by the Aorangi after an extended visit to America of over twelve months. • • • • Miss A. M. Y. Candy, of Chriatelitreli, i* now in residence at Bedford College for Women, to the staff of wh'ch she has been appointed. •'• • • Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Puckey, Remuera, who have been on an extended visit to England, were passengers by the Mataroa, and arrived in Auckland by the Limited this morning. • * • • Mrs. R. W. Nash (nee Emslie), of Auckland, was married soon after her arrival in London in March. She lived for Qoma time in' Southsea, but has now settled permanently in Bromley, Kent. • « • • Miss H. E. Dixon, of Auckland, who is in London to study art, has now begun work at the Royal College of Art, South Kensington. Miss Dixon was a passenger by the. Rotorua, and arrived on September 21. • • • • Mrs. C. Chilman, of Auckland, and her two daughters, arrived in London by the Arawa. Mrs. Chilman is not sure how long she is staying. In the meantime she is visiting relation* in London and Southend. Mrs. Chilman went to join her husband. • • • • A New Zealand wedding took place at St. Peter'B Church, Eaton Square, when Mr. John McLean Buckley, elder son ol the late Mr. St. John McLean Buckley, of Redcastle, Oamaru, and Mrs. Buckley, of Clovers, Hartoure. Godalming, married Miss Oona Pamela Thesiger. • • • • The marriage arranged between Mr. Phillip Pearce Clay, eldest son of Mrs, S. E. Penberthy, of Cholmley Gardens ; Hampstead, and Miss Kathleen Amy second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. C Wilson, of New Zealand, was to havt taken place at the Chapel of the Savoy on October 20. • • • • An Armenian woman, Mira Hagopian who a few months ago graduated from Columbia University (U.S.A.) witl honours in dental science, is now on th< 8 dental staff of a leading New Yorl 9 hospital. In 1919, when she was only 8 seventeen, she was one of a party o: '• Armenian refugees rescued in Asia Minoi " by the crew of a United States warshi] 1 and was sent by the American Near Easi * Relief Commission to New York, when - she was educated, and later entered th< v dental department of Columbia Univers k ity, working at various jobs outsid< '• "Varsity hours to earn part of her sup e port.
