"ALL MOONSHINE."
A CANDIDATE'S INDEPENDENCE
MR. GREVILLE EMPHATIC,
"The statement of Mr. Harris that he is standing as an independent Reformer, is all moonshine," declared Mr. R. H. Greville, United candidate for Waite;nata, at his meeting at the Foresters Hall, Takapuna, last night. There were about 350 electors present, Mr. J. W. Huyden presiding.
Holding aloft the the official Reform journal, of October 27, Mr. Greville challenged any of the audience to come and read it for himself. The name of Mr. A. Harris s"ood forth on the list of official Reform candidates. It seemed to Mr. Greville that his Reform opponent was describing himself as an inedpendent because he had called the Government corrupt. (Applause).
The meeting accorded Mr. Greville a most attentive hearing, and a vote of thanks and confidence was carried by a large majority. An amendment of thanks, and no confidence, failed to find a seconder.
